Winter has arrived here in Canada; the mice are moving indoors. How do I get rid of them without killing them?

I have 5 cats, three kittens, and a large dog, so the method has to be pet safe. When a mouse runs across the floor, all of my pets run and hide! I have tried traps, but the mice are too smart. They lick the cheese spread and peanut butter off the traps without setting them off! I’d rather not kill them, but am desperate! Are there any unlethal solutions out there? My neighbor has a large garden and uses straw as mulch. This is where the mice are coming from. I like mice, but want them out of my house and garage. Please help!

You are putting yourself in a lose-lose situation. They won’t leave and you’re going to be wasting your time trying to do it. Get a mouse trap, say a prayer and let it be that.

The refrigerator or freezer dont leave leftovers in tupperware containers everything that can inside the trash can be stored in airtight containers and bagged foods in tupperware containers and bagged foods in airtight containers everything that.
An article read some time ago if you remove all food sources the mice will leave on their own accord this means sealing boxed and bagged foods in tupperware containers everything.

Talk to your neighbor or try to keep everything outside your house closed.

The humane traps don’t work and the ultra-sonic gizmos are questionable.
    1. Seal ALL the holes leading into the house. I use steel wool (hardware store) that I squeeze into a hole then I anchor it in place with an expanding foam insulation (also hardware store.
    2. Remove all food from being accessible inside the house and leave a dish of food OUTSIDE somewhere.
    3. After a week or so (once they get jused to it), set some snap traps out there near the food dish. Remove carcases daily.

If that doesn’t work, I’ll send over some of my ex-wife’s cooking. Leave it out on the counter and clean up the dead mice in the morning.
